The climate and environment, both at the global and domestic levels are undergoing significant shifts year-on-year. Considering the historic trends, the innovations of science and technology, research and development, the emergence of new challenges, shifts in ecosystem equilibriums, climate change and the looming extreme weather events threatening the very existence of the planet, several indicators have been analysed and future predictions have been made.

2023 has been a year of mixed outcomes. On the one hand, the agreement to launch the loss and damage fund at COP28 by the world leaders marked a milestone in climate action; on the other hand, the world has witnessed the loss of lives of thousands of citizens to floods, cyclones, tornadoes and heat waves.
The predictions for 2024, therefore, carry a bag of both boons and banes.
This Environment and Climate Action Outlook for 2024, has been a cumulation of several outlooks, predictions and trends made to date; that provide insights on the possible happenings in the environment and climate arena at the international and national stages.
