Loss of biodiversity has become more pertinent than ever, because of its devastating consequences that humankind has been facing for a while. Policymakers across the globe have started taking up initiatives on its mitigation.

Within the complex interconnected food webs, one can witness a long term evolutionary process which occurred naturally with stability. However, with the advancement in lifestyle, setting up of industries and depletion of environmental ethics in human beings, the biomes and ecosystems have been adversely affected, altering the food web and subsequently leading to the extinction of many species.
One of the major threats to biodiversity is climate change. It is rewiring the ecosystems as the ‘suitable’ climate for species is moving farther away, thus exposing them to harsh climatic conditions. Species that can detect them in early stages adapt but others become endangered and gradually extinct.
Animals, plants, and pests that escape the food chain become potential threats to the outbreak of new invasive species. Uncontrolled global warming has created a vicious cycle of heating, destruction of wild areas, increased absorption of carbon and subsequently alarming threat to biodiversity.

Climate change is getting hazardous day by day. It's high time that we should take necessary measures to curb it, otherwise the ecosystem would collapse, considering how adversely it is impacting the biodiversity.
Biodiversity is at the heart of this planet. We all are integrated with it and yet, we as humans fail to comprehend the dire necessity to safeguard it.
