ABOUT US
INDEPENDENT YOUTH LED THINK TANK
The Geostrata is a vibrant, independent policy and research think tank, serving as a hub of youth-led intellectual discourse that resonates from India to the far reaches of the globe. We stand for a distinctly Indian take on world affairs and represent a unique paradigm of layered intellect and shared wisdom, continuously evolving and engaging with domestic and international policies, strategic affairs, high-tech, cyber studies, public affairs, sustainability, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues.
A dynamic, 200-strong team stands at our core, functioning as the energy nucleus. Our cadre includes individuals from every socio-economic stratum of India, from premier institutions such as Delhi University, IIMs, IITs, NLUs, Ashoka University, the University of Glasgow, and the University of Alberta. It's this potent mix of intellect that powers The Geostrata.
Radiating from this core, our strategic initiatives and collaborations enlighten the way. As the Secretariat Partner of the Women 20 (W20 under G20) Indian Presidency, we provide research, knowledge, content and design, and logistics support. Currently, we're spearheading the BRICS Youth Energy Summit in South Africa, partnering with the BRICS Youth Energy Agency and the South African government.
Our influence extends to international forums, demonstrated by our recent facilitation of India's first offline panel discussion on the Global South's journey to COP28, involving representatives from organizations such as the World Bank, UN Habitat, World Wildlife Fund, and UNEP.
At The Geostrata, we marry dialogue with action. Our collaboration with Mercedes Benz's beVisioneers fellowship on the 'SuryaGanga' project is setting up solar panels in Indian schools to actualize sustainable change.
We do not let geographical boundaries limit our work. Our expansion strategy reaches out to regions like the US, UK, Europe, and Africa, introducing the unique Indian perspective on global matters to a broader audience. We aim to bridge the gap between India and the world through recruitment and strategic collaborations with other youth think tanks.
Our social arm, The Geostrata Foundation, mirrors our commitment to global responsibility, particularly to the Global South. On World Environment Day, 5th June 2023, the Foundation took a significant step in this direction by planting 500 trees across Africa. The Geostrata Foundation is guided by 25 Rising Gen Goals, which will steer its course over the next five years before they are revised again.
The Geostrata's initiatives have a considerable impact, reaching approximately 1 million people each month. Through our platforms, we publish young people's opinion pieces on various issues, engage audiences with thought-provoking creatives and infographics on Instagram, and host monthly deliberation sessions.
Beyond this, we are committed to nurturing the talents and skills of our members through regular workshops on topics ranging from design to writing and policy brief formulation.
The Geostrata stands as a beacon of intellectual energy and layered wisdom, striving to engage, enlighten, and empower the youth, paving the way for a better, more informed world.
